Contact Andrea the next time you’ve “got a guy” that you’re not quite sure where to start with, and stop declines before they happen; You might just be surprised at what she’ll find… ## The Challenge Female, mid 30’s, non-smoker The client was diagnosed with stage 4 Leukemia at the age of 17 and was previously advised by another agent that coverage would never be possible. The Cancer, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, was treated with Chemo only.  She’s now been in complete remission for 15 years, is married with children, lives a very active lifestyle, and has encountered no additional health issues or post-treatment complications. ## The Solution While we did have multiple carriers that were unwilling to offer, based solely on the fact that this was stage 4, we were able to identify a few outliers that were willing to at least review the history in its entirety, for a possible rated offer.  There were two carriers that were willing to consider at the table 4 to 6 range, which is definitely better than nothing. We were then surprised by four carriers that came back with a possible table 2, which I honestly thought was the best we’d see.  However, after working with a Medical Director and identifying that there was no stem cell or bone marrow transplant, no prophylactic cranial irradiation, and absolutely no signs of recurrence, we were able to get this approved at a Standard rate class! When all was said and done, the client was presented with multiple options that she didn’t previously think were possible, simply because another agent didn’t advocate for her the way your team at IAMS was willing and able to!
